Space constrained tie-in pipework connection.
At a STW an additional tertiary filter tank was to be installed. The outlet required connecting into the above ground drainage pipework for the neighbouring tank.
Detail design and analysis of a header frame.
A header for a heating system required supporting at height. We undertook the detailed design and structural verification using FEA of this frame. We calculated the civil base requirements.
Calculating the thrust forces acing on an elbow.
When an open ended horizontal pipe was to have an elbow fitted to direct the flow vertical, we were asked to calculate the forces and verify the structural support elements.
Pipe design utilising a 3D point cloud laser scan.
To enable all pipe spools to be prefabricated at the workshop a 3D point cloud laser scan was utilised to confirm the fit. The 3D scan was imported into the pipework 3D model and adjustments made.

Britvic - Structural verification for pipe bridge
Structural verification of pipe bridge for Britvic (sub-contract through KCAD). The structure was verified. A truss system was chosen to maximise and minimise cost.
Eurocode compliant access platform.
Our client (a large gas fired power station) required a new access platform to access a steam valve. The new platform was designed by PME Ltd considering the structural strength of the system.
Verification of personnel and equipment loads.
PME were commissioned to perform strength verification on a new steel platform to be installed at a food manufacturing company. Imposed and permanent actions were factored and applied to the platform.
Verification of hoop stress using hand calculations and FEA.
A burst potable water main at Blackfriars London was repaired by PMP Utilities Ltd. PMP commissioned the services of PME to perform strength verification on a section of main.
Structural verification of column and beam resistances.
To design and structurally verify the beams and columns. Calculation of factored permanent and imposed wheel loads to Eurocode 3. Calculations were performed in Tekla TEDDS and Solidworks FEA.
Design of mould flushing rig.
Combined project with local well respected companies D&D Engineering and Enertek International Ltd to design and manufacture a mould flushing rig for SIEMENS Gamesa.
