Pioneering renewable energy company, SIEMENS, began to have problems with the build up of impurities and suspended solids in their blade moulds. To tackle this problem, SIEMENS wanted to design and manufacture a mould flushing rig that would remove these impurities. PME Professional Mechanical Engineering were commissioned to design this rig from the client specification.
Using 3D CAD Solidworks, PME produced engineering drawings that enabled the rig to be manufactured. This included a full set of 2D drawings, in addition to 3D CAD model parts and assemblies that were used to check for interference within the rig.
Following PME’s involvement in the design of the mould flushing rig, SIEMENS were able to manufacture a rig that performed to their specifications. As a result, SIEMENS were able to increase production levels, whilst simultaneously improving production quality levels.
