Ian served his time as an apprentice engineer at Ideal Heating and progressed to Potterton Myson, Enertek International Ltd, The University of Hull and British Steel.

3D CAD – We use state of the art CAD software, Solidworks. Production of part and assembly models of mechanical solutions. We are able to ‘drop-off’ 2D drawings off our 3D models. Full bills of materials are possible together with purchased part specifications

We have experience of designing water-water, air-water & air-air heat exchangers. Undertaking traditional heat transfer calculations. Calculating fluid pressure drop through open or closed channels allowing us to determine the capacity and specification of pumps and fans.

Calculating the thrust forces acing on an elbow.
When an open ended horizontal pipe was to have an elbow fitted to direct the flow vertical, we were asked to calculate the forces and verify the structural support elements.
Detail design and analysis of a header frame.
A header for a heating system required supporting at height. We undertook the detailed design and structural verification using FEA of this frame. We calculated the civil base requirements.
